I love creating user-friendly interfaces and helping people solve complex problems with elegant software solutions. My journey into software development began after a successful first career as a teacher at a technology-focused school, where I taught young students basic coding skills using resources like Scratch and Code.org. I found that I was as engaged as my students in learning new concepts and skills -- ones that I had not previously been exposed to in my own education. The more I learned, the more curious I became, eventually enrolling in an online software engineering career track program and kicking off my career as a software developer. It has been a rewarding journey, and I am excited to continue learning and growing in this field.When I'm not coding, I like to stay active to balance out all the time I spend at my desk. I especially love to spend time on the ocean, training for outrigger canoe races, a sport I've competed in at the local, state, and international levels.
